Three thousend metre summits such as the Hohe Sonnblick (3106 m) - hosting Europes highest, permanent serviced meteorological observatory, the Hocharn (3254 m) - the highest mountain in the Goldberg mountain group and the Schareck (3067 m) attract equally as the less challenging Kolmkarspitz or Silberpfenning.

In addition, there are 2 marked ski tour routes in the immidiate vicinity of Rauris village center. No matter what ski tour you choose, each ascent is worthwhile.
